For Mekhi Music Indie folk singer-songwriter and actor Kobe Mekhi, it would be no different. Soon to be an alumnus of DePaul University’s Acting Conservatory Program, Kobe, a self-taught musician has been able to tap into unique ways of expression that include visual media, acting, and singing. His new single “Soulmate Connections” is his second single released under his own independent record label, It's a guitar-driven upbeat folk single that talks about relationships losing valuable friendships and connections, and valuing the right connections. “As an LGBQT+ artist, Kobe’s music is a refreshing sound in a genre generally reserved for house and uptempo dance music and brings his twist of light-hearted relationship themes. He sings “Soulmate connections were meant for distractions', implying that meaningful relations are hard to come by, and finding the right one is always left to fate. Whether or not “Soulmate Connections” reaches its intended audience's soul, Kobe's mission is to stay vulnerable and relatable as his music permits.
